Death Grip Mug

One of the artists favorites of this collection. This spooky skeleton mug is an ode to the season. A reminder to retreat inward and sit with the shadows.

The mug was thrown on the wheel with black, stoneware clay. The skeleton hand was hand-sculpted and carefully attached to the side of the mug. After drying slowly the mug was fired twice in the kiln.

The outside of the mug is raw, exposed clay. The inside is coated in a glossy, glass-like glaze and the skeleton hand features a matte glazed finish.
