When given a lit incense cone, the Cosmic Serpent breathes smoke!
The base of the incense smoker started as a couple balls of light, speckled stoneware clay that was thrown on the wheel. Once firm enough to work, the piece was trimmed and joined with a hand-sculpted serpent. After slowly drying, it was fired in the kiln, glazed and fired twice more.
The opal-eyed serpent is slithering through clusters of swirled, opalescent spears and AAA+ clear quartz sticks that bathed in the healing light of the full moon. Throughout the piece are little beads coated in precious 22 karat gold.
The serpent symbolizes surrender, release, death and rebirth. In order to survive, serpents must routinely shed what keeps them from growing and no longer serves. Serpent energy is an empowering and comforting ally to lean on in times of transition and uncertainty.
