5 Year Anniversary Edition Piece

When given a lit cone of incense or choice of cleansing medicine, the rattlesnake breathes smoke!

This piece started as two balls of white, stoneware clay that were thrown on the pottery wheel. Once firm enough to work it was trimmed then joined with a hand-sculpted rattlesnake and fungi. After slow drying, this piece was fired in the kiln then hand-painted and fired again.

The rattlesnakes eyes and head feature genuine Australian opals that bathed in the healing light of the full moon on October 17th.

The serpent symbolizes surrender, release, death and rebirth. In order to survive, serpents must routinely shed what keeps them from growing and no longer serves. Serpent energy is an empowering and comforting ally to lean on in times of transition and uncertainty.
