A minimalist, earthy-toned planter featuring twin serpents dancing in a harmonious form. Perfect for homing a small-medium sized houseplant.
The pot was thrown on the wheel with a few pounds of rich, red stoneware clay. Once it was firm enough to work, the serpents bodies were attached and sculpted. Within several hours, all the fine details were added. Once fully dry, the planter was fired in the kiln twice.
The exterior is raw, exposed clay. The interior has a crackled, shiny surface and drainage holes.
The serpent symbolizes surrender, release, death and rebirth. In order to survive, serpents must routinely shed what keeps them from growing and no longer serves. Serpents are wise teachers, reminding us to continue letting go in order to welcome new. Serpent energy is an empowering, inspiring and comforting ally to lean on in times of transition and uncertainty.
