The mug was thrown on the pottery wheel with rich, golden stoneware clay. Once firm enough to work, the mug was trimmed then joined with a hand-sculpted tarantula and handle.
After slowly drying, it was fired, finished with glazes then fired twice more. The eye on the tarantulas back is coated in precious 24 karat gold.
